12. U.S. Military: Creating leaders since 1775!

In this episode Yo is joined by Erin Silver, founder of the “Life After The Uniform” Podcast, which helps veterans transition to civilian life with a military mindset. I found her podcast to be very inspiring and so very important!

More about Erin's amazing background:

- Mom served 30 years in the Navy, multiple other family members served in other branches. She has over 10 years of combined military service between family members.

- Enlisted in the Air Force (AF) Active Duty in 1996-1997

- Had a 13 year hiatus and re-enlisted in the AF Reserves in 2010

- Applied for a special duty assignment with the AF Exercise Research Unit (ESU) to conduct a study on women serving in combat positions

- Earned her graduate degree during this time

- Applied for a federal position as a GS-13 and was hired

- Promoted to GS-14 Supervisor within the 1st year

- Took a Military Leave of Absence from my federal position and went back to ESU to work another 3 year Active Duty tour

- Hired as an Exercise Research Subject Matter Consultant for the Air Force and Space Force (Current position)
