In this episode Yo brings some Cher vibes to the podcast by discussing her autobiography, The First Time, published in 1998. The book became personal for Yo as she saw herself in Cher’s life journey. For example:
· They were very shy kids
· They felt darker skinned than others in their family
· Identified with being called a ringleader as a child
· Grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California
· Went to the same elementary / junior high school
· Had a traumatic subway experience in New York
She is one of the very few we can ask: “Which is your favorite Cher song with Sonny, post Sonny, TV character she played, or favorite movie role?” We’ll sample a few of our favorites in this episode.
